Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle includes football scholarships, family involvement as well as community involvement. Selmon is the youngest of children from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Semon. They raised him on the farm they owned in Eufala. In football, he was alongside three brothers in Oklahoma. Three brothers were All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the US. Lee Roy won two championships, and 32-1-1 in his three seasons as Oklahoma's main man. In 1975, Selmon was awarded his third scholarship, and was named a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received his bachelor's degree in education. Fourth year of college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. He moved to Tampa after graduation, and played with the Buccaneers for nine years and was three-times all-pro. The business venture he started began. In 1988, he was an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. No wonder that In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's most outstanding young men. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He was captain of his college team in 1975. In 1993, Roy was a part of at the University of South Fla's athletic department as the Director of Athletics as an associate. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame named his in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. The Selmons' parents Lucious as well as Mary Selmon, Jr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor that made the award.
