Selena Gomez
Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@/ 'goUmez/s@–LEE-n@/ GOH-mez on July 22, 1992) was an American actress, singer and producer. Gomez's acting debut was in the television show for children called Barney & Friends (1902-2004). As a teenager she became famous for starring as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez is also part of the television show Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie 2009, Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers 2012, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). In 2019, she'll be seen in The Dead Don't Die (2018). Gomez was also the voice of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania's movie franchise between 2012 and 2022. Gomez executive produced the Netflix television series 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2019) through her production company, July Moon Productions. She also executive produces and is a star in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu comedy show Only Murders in the Building (21-21). The latter earned Gomez critical praise, and nominations for the Golden Globe Award, and as a producer in the series, an Primetime Emmy Award .
Gomez who was previously part of Selena Gomez & the Scene released three albums. The albums all reached the top 10 of the US Billboard 200. The albums were all certified gold and received the Recording industry Association of America's (RIAA). Stars Dance (2013) was her debut album as a solo artist. Billboard 200 topped her debut solo album, Stars Dance (2013). The album's lead single, "Come & Get It" reached the top ten spot on the US Billboard Hot 100. The second album of Gomez, Revival (2015) debuted at the top of the charts in the US. It was certified platinum by RIAA and produced three top ten tracks in the US: "Good for You", “Same Old Love" and "Hands to Myself". The album that she released her third studio album, Rare (2020), made her the third consecutive album to reach number one in the US and featured the lead single, "Lose You to Love Me" is her first top-ten hit in the US and Canada. She also released Revelacion in Spanish and was a big hit and earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. She has been honored with numerous awards and was named Billboard's Female of the Year in 2017 as well as breaking 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the 100 most influential people on the planet in 2020. Her following is huge on social media platforms and is the most popular actress and musician on Instagram. Her other ventures include makeup, clothing, handbag and fragrance lines. She has worked with several charitable organizations , and was an UNICEF ambassador since age 17.
